It is crucial to wipe up any spills and watermarks as they occur. Excessive moisture is one of the worst enemies of any wood and finish. MCC signature furniture finish is durable and moisture resistant, but it is not moisture/water proof. Clean your cabinets as needed with a lint-free (micro-fiber) cloth, but if needed dampened cloth with warm water & mild soap only to remove grease if that does not work use a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water. After wiping and cleaning an area, dry immediately with a lint-free (micro-fiber) cloth. It is also preferred just to use a micro-fiber cloth for dusting or wiping off any residue. You can use traditional “wood” furniture polish but avoid anything that has silicone oil; lemon oil or wax is sufficient to protect and clean.
Avoid the use of scouring pads, harsh chemicals, powdered cleansers or any ammonia based products to clean your cabinetry. These items will dull and harm your finish. Do not use a dishcloth to wipe your cabinets, since it may contain remnants of grease and other contaminants. Avoid draping damp or wet towels over a door or drawer front. Over time, this constant moisture will cause permanent water damage.
IMPORTANT - Keep areas free of any debris, small particles, or dust these can prevent the newly finish areas to not dry smoothly. We are not responsible for these anomalies after the work is completed.
When applying touch ups it will take more than 1 or 2 applications depending on the color and depth of the crack or indentation. For Paint: Use a real fine pointed paint brush and apply into the area at least 2-3 times. For Stain: Use a touch up marker and dot the area. If applying stain also use a fine paint brush and apply the area 2 or more times until the area is concealed.
When opting to go with Painted cabinetry (example: solid white, gray etc.) you need to understand as a consumer the characteristics of wood and the affects it can have on painted style cabinetry. With white and/or solid painted cabinets, there is a possibility and tendency of cracks or chipping to appear. Not in all cases but can happen. This is caused by the wood natural characteristics of expanding and contracting in it's new environment. Cracks and chipping may appear and is NOT covered by warranty. They may appear at the seams of face frames ad/or joints o of doors but not always. It is out of the company's control on how the wood may or may not contract or expand. Humidity and temperatures are main factors that cause this process. In addition, touch ups and servicing paint/stain areas also have limited warranty. We will do our due diligence to honor our finishes and prefect the areas but if continuous and non normal unforeseen paint or stain imperfections arise including wear and tear is not under company warranty and to fix these areas will be the responsibility of the customer to pay for service calls. Note: Please during touch up keep areas free of any debris, small particles, or dust these can prevent the newly finish areas to not dry smoothly. We are not responsible for these anomalies after the work is completed.
